The Craft of Sound and Music - Lecture Series

I've always believed that music, sound, and audio production are far deeper than most of us are taught to think about them.

We live in a time where information is everywhere. There are endless tutorials, opinions, shortcuts, and "secrets" available online. Yet many people still feel overwhelmed, intimidated by technical concepts, or unsure how all the pieces fit together.

This lecture series is an attempt to slow down and explore the fundamentals.

Once a month, we'll gather to discuss topics ranging from sound and acoustics to music theory, recording, synthesis, mixing, mastering, and instrumental technique. Through lectures, demonstrations, listening sessions, and discussion, we'll examine not only what things are, but why they work, how they evolved, and how they connect to the broader craft of making music.

My goal is not to tell you what to create. Creativity is personal. Instead, I want to help you develop a deeper understanding of the tools, principles, and practices that make meaningful creative work possible.

These sessions are for people who are curious. People who are willing to ask questions. People who are not afraid to admit what they don't know. People who want to develop competency rather than collect shortcuts.

More than anything, I hope these gatherings remind us that we are not alone in our pursuit of good craft, that learning can be exciting, that complexity is not something to fear and that the process of understanding can be every bit as rewarding as the finished result.

If you leave with more questions than you arrived with, a renewed sense of curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of music and sound, then the workshop has done its job.
